Scania to expand autonomous transport trials
With the start of its autonomous commercial pilot programme, Scania is accelerating the deployment of autonomous hub-to-hub transport. The manufacturer will also be involved in a new partnership with US-based software specialist Plus, which will integrate its technology stack into Scania vehicles.
The launch comes as customers look for partners for developing and deploying autonomous vehicles within their own operations. The new solution can be adapted to specific routes and transport profiles.
Scania has been testing autonomous transport solutions on Swedish roads since 2021 and plans to expand pilot operations with customers in other European countries this year. (ben)
