Scan Global opens office in Dar Es Salaam
Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has strengthened its position in East Africa by opening its first office in Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania). The strategic move has enhanced access to key landlocked markets, including Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the company said.
With Tanzania’s growing trade in agriculture, mining and infrastructure, the demand for logistics services is rising, according to SGL. The firm will “leverage this rapidly-growing economy to position itself as a preferred partner for businesses in these sectors.”
Jan Andersson, the new managing director of SGL in Tanzania, highlighted the opportunities witnessed by its entry into the Kenyan market a year ago. “Many of our customers also have branches in Tanzania, presenting us with good growth opportunities.” (js)
