Saving time at Brussels airport

Despite the sharp decline in belly cargo (-60%), the volume of cargo handled at Brussels airport’s logistics platform grew by 17% compared to February 2020, totalling 59,921 t.

The growth in the full cargo segment (+85%) is the result of the arrival of new airlines in 2020 (Sichuan, HongYuan, Amerijet), combined with diverted flights last month due to congestion at nearby cargo airports.

In order to help eliminate waiting times for international RFS, ground handling company WFS has joined the Brucargo "Digital Green Lane" initiative.

The latest phase of the Brucloud project is to pilot a new app to digitally improve the efficiency of the interface between trucking operators and handling providers.  Trucking providers H.Essers, Jan de Rijk, Ninatrans and Wallenborn have joined the project. (ah)
