Savannah hub to connect to US class I railways
In the USA, Omnitrax is launching its rail-ready sites programme at Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub in coordination with the Effingham County industrial development authority.
The American transport company is in the process of constructing an industrial switcher to connect the sites in the industrial park and logistics hub to on-property Class 1 railroads that serve the East Coast, Omnitrax said.
Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub covers an area of 11 sqkm and features direct connectivity with CSX and Norfolk Southern Railways serving the US East Coast. The gateway hub is also located near the deep-water port of Savannah. (ben)
