RZDL continues to expand its own loco fleet
The Russian transport and logistics company began building its own locomotive fleet in December 2023, purchasing two shunting diesel locomotives for this purpose, and is now planning to buy two more such locomotives in 2025.
The expansion is in response to a growing demand for traction services from the industry, RZD Logistics says. It will use the new locomotives to provide wagon delivery and cleaning services for companies that are connected to the Sverdlovsk and East Siberian Railway network, two branches of Russian Railways, via non-public tracks. RZDL's diesel locomotives are primarily designed for shunting and export work on 1,520 mm gauge railways. (ben)
