Russian intermodal operator introduces two new trains
Trans-Container will raise the number of regular services in Russia and China. A block train has been launched from Zibo (Shandong Province, China) to Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovskaya Railway, Russia) through the Zabaykalsk border-crossing point. The first train, consisting of 134 teu consumer electronics, has already finished its run with a transit time of only eight days and will now become a regular service.
The first block train on Russia's domestic network has also been launched from Bezymyanka station (Samsara) to Ugolnaya station (Vladivostok). The 8000 km long trip takes nine days.
In both cases Trans-Container acts as an operator providing its own terminal infrastructure, flatcars and containers. (ben)
