Road haulage association founded
Backed by the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the aim of the newly established Union of the Associations of International Road Carriers (OTS-URTA) will be to support the work of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
The association was inaugurated with the signing of its terms of reference by IRU members from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The OTS-URTA will tackle key challenges facing international road transport, customs and trade within the OTS region. It will advocate for the reduction of operational costs and the elimination of trade barriers and encourage collaboration among road haulage associations to develop robust logistics solutions, particularly along the Middle Corridor, IRU said.
