Regular train service between Far East and Penza
Transcontainer and Stevedoring Holding Global Ports (both part of Delo-Group) have introduced a service for transporting imports from the Far East to Penza, 625 km southeast of Moscow.
Containers arrive from China at the Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company and are then dispatched by container train along the Nakhodka-Vostochnaya - Penza-2 route to Transcontainer’s own terminal. Travel time by rail is eleven days.
Initially, the frequency will be two trains per month, with the option of adding more services in the future. The first train with 137 teu recently arrived in Penza carrying eleven types of cargo, including pulp, chemical cargoes, non-ferrous and ferrous metal products, and equipment. (ben)
