Ramping up reverse logistics
DHL is acquiring Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, to boost its reverse logistics capacities in North America. As a division of Inmar Intelligence the business is active in return solutions for the retail e-commerce industry, with 14 return centres across the continent.
A team of 800 Inmar associates will join DHL Supply Chain’s North American network of 520 warehouses and 52,000 employees. Working together, they can keep up with changing consumer behaviour and increasing returns, enhancing remarketing, recall management and supply chain performance analytics.
Recommerce and efficient returns management have the potential to divert consumer returns from reaching landfill. DHL is thus also looking to reach its sustainability goals by way of improving reverse logistics offerings with this acquisition. (mk)
