Qatar Airways Cargo and Cainiao boost partnership
The e-commerce air cargo sector is projected to grow rapidly in the coming years, according to analysts. Qatar Airways Cargo and Cainiao, the logistics arm of the tech giant Alibaba, plan to strengthen their collaboration, which began in 2021. Their aim is to support the growth of cross-border e-commerce, as they stated in a press release.
Mark Drusch, chief officer cargo at Qatar Airways, therefore announced that the carrier will use of the Qatar Airways cargo hub at Hamad international airport in Doha “to expedite shipments to customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa”.
Cainiao chief executive officer Wan Lin said that his organisation intends to build a more robust global express network and to “support our global customers with faster deliveries and enhanced supply chain efficiency.” (js)
