Pursuing growth in the Dominican Republic
P&O Maritime Logistics has won a contract with DP World in the Dominican Republic to enhance vessel capacity and frequency in the port of Caucedo.
The agreement, commencing on 7 December 2023, involves deploying three advanced tugs, including two newbuildings, equipped with oil-spill response and firefighting capabilities.
This move aligns with P&O Maritime Logistics’ growth strategy in the Americas. Its CEO Martin Helweg emphasised the positive impact on both the economy and communities, while Morten Johansen, CEO DP World Dominicana and COO DP World Americas, highlighted the strategic significance of the Dominican Republic in DP World’s expansion plans.
