Prizes for sustainable transport
No fewer than four companies have been honoured with the prestigious eco performance award in logistics: In the SME category, the prize went to Swiss freight forwarder Schöni. The carrier relies on alternative drive concepts and intermodal transport. Schöni wants to be the first Swiss company to use only carbon-neutral fuel by the end of 2023.
The retailer Migros Ostschweiz, which already uses rail services for distances of less than 300 km, was honoured in the large company category.
Lithuanian freight forwarder Integre Trans also received the sustainability award for its deployment of LNG trucks, as did the start-up Park Your Truck, whose app of the same name helps to reduce the time professional drivers take to find parking spaces. (ben)
