Private green initiative in Southern Africa
Imperial, one of Southern Africa’s major fleet operators, will cooperate with Sasol to reduce its carbon footprint. The companies intend to explore solutions for improving freight sustainability and efficiency in Southern Africa and will also be evaluating potential cross-border collaboration.
Sasol’s aspiration is to play a major role in the co-creation and development of hydrogen ecosystems, which aims to use green hydrogen to decarbonise the transport sector and other industries with a large carbon footprint.
Imperial is also exploring ways to use fuel cell electric vehicles to decarbonise heavy-duty long-haul trucking. (ben)
