Port of Tripoli CT acquired
The Marseilles-based CMA CGM Group has taken over the operation of the Port of Tripoli container terminal as part of a share deal with Gulftainer Lebanon. The French liner operates five lines per week from Tripoli, including one link to China.
The group’s maritime lines Med Express and Megem opened the way to the Arab, Indian and Mediterranean markets already in February this year.
Approximately 240 vessels of the group’s fleet will call the Port of Tripoli in 2021. With 14 weekly calls at the ports of Beirut and Tripoli, the CMA CGM Group now has a strategic presence in Lebanon. (cd)
