Planet Mark certification for Yusen's new site
Yusen Logistics UK expanded its service offering with the opening of its state-of-the-art flagship warehousing facility in Wellingborough (UK) last year.
Strategically located near major transport routes and road networks, the facility was the first unit at Prologis Park Wellingborough West. Today, the 34,200 sqm site employs in excess of 200 employees, and dispatches over 40'000 high end consumer electronics items per day for same/next day delivery to more than 150 end destinations across the UK.
Now the site attained The Planet Mark certification – achieving an impressive lifetime carbon reduction of 24.7% (or 6,303 t CO2e). Through The Planet Mark programme, and in line with its ongoing commitment to sustainability, nearly 110 ha of rainforest in Papua New Guinea, has been protected to mitigate 100% of the embodied carbon associated with the development of the new site.
