Pan-European guidelines established
As from the turn of the year 2021, maintenance and repairs of the 42,000 Ermewa freight wagons must be carried out in accordance with the new Ermewa maintenance manual (EMM).
The France-based company is the first wagon holder to issue uniform and Europe-wide guidelines that are compulsory for maintenance work in all partner workshops. Ermewa cooperates with more than 50 different workshops across Europe.
The new Ermewa manual is based on the VPI European maintenance guide (VPI-EMG), but also comprises some additional features, as regards wagon superstructures, for example.
Compliance with the Ermewa manual is also obligatory for the 7,000 strong wagon fleet which was acquired by SNCF in 2010 and is now leased to SNCF Fret. (ben)
