Ottmarsheim to become rail hub
Swissterminal is launching a new rail link between the port of Antwerp in Belgium and Ottmarsheim in Alsace in the border triangle between France, Switzerland and Germany on 1 January 2022.
The new train will run three times a week in both directions. It will depart from Ottmarsheim on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from Antwerp on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The new service is a first step towards developing Ottmarsheim into a rail hub for the border triangle, Swissterminal says.
The terminal has good transport links with the Rhine, rail and motorways and easy access for truck drivers to deliver and unload containers. It also provides services for containers, such as maintenance, repair and reefer services. (ben)
