ONE adds Nagasaki unit
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the creation of a new subsidiary, One Dejima, in Nagasaki City, Japan. This initiative, supported by the Nagasaki Prefecture, Nagasaki City, Fukuoka Financial Group, and the Juhachi-Shinwa Bank, aims to extend ONE's global network and foster regional development in Japan.
The new company will assist with operational functions of ONE's global headquarters in Singapore and is part of ONE's strategy to cultivate specialised talent, following the establishment of the Advanced Ocean Container Transportation Engineering Lab (Aoctel) in Kumamoto Prefecture.
One Dejima, with a capital of JPY 100 million (USD 690,000), will focus on agency management, accounting, market intelligence, and talent acquisition and begin its operations in April 2024. (pb)
