Norway: rail carrier to trial e-reachstacker
Cargo Net has signed a one-year agreement with Kalmar covering field trials for a Kalmar electric reachstacker. The Norwegian railfreight operator has reserved an option to put the machine into regular commercial operation after the test. The reachstacker will be delivered in Q1/2023.
Cargo Net is a specialist in rail-based intermodal services within Norway and between Norway and Sweden. The new machine to be field-tested will have a wheelbase of 7.5 m and stacking capability up to 6 high. The maximum lifting capacity of 45 – 45 – 34 – 23 t in the first, second, third and fourth rows respectively represents a world first for an electric reachstacker.
