Next up for NX: healthcare logistics
Nippon Express Holdings is taking over the Simon Hegele Group as its newest acquisition in the healthcare and pharma logistics sector. Based on a network of 50 hubs worldwide, Simon Hegele offers healthcare, industrial and pharma logistics services, with a special focus on customised logistics for complex supply chains.
According to Simon Hegele’s CEO, Stefan Ulrich, the group had been looking for a strategic partner for international operations and a complementary portfolio. Simon Hegele’s organisation and active management will remain in place after the takeover.
NX can provide local expertise in healthcare markets in Asia, while leveraging Simon Hegele’s existing services. After having signed the contract at the end of September, the companies expect to close the deal in three to five months, subject to regulatory approvals. (mk)
