Newbuild for K Line
The Japanese carrier K Line took over the newbuild “Miyagawa Maru", a 100,000 dwt special coal carrier at Imabari Shipbuilding's Marugame Shipyard (Japan).
The vessel was jointly developed by Imabari Shipbuilding and K Line to maximise the transport volume to the port of discharge - Jera’s Hekinan thermal power plant in Japan.
The ship is equipped with the latest ecological technology such as a VTI turbocharger which optimises energy-saving, and a ballast water management system that prevents damage to marine ecosystems. (kd)
