New units for Wan Hai Lines
The Taiwan-based carrier Wan Hai Lines recently baptised the “Wan Hai A07” and “Wan Hai A08”, its first two vessels in the series of 13,100 teu containerships. The ceremony was held at Samsung Heavy Industries Geoje shipyard, where the vessels were built.
The 13,100 teu series is designed with an overall length of 335 m, a breadth of 51 m, a draft of 16 m and a maximum speed of 22 knots. Currently, it is one of the major vessel types in the shipping company's owned fleet. The “Wan Hai A07” is now deployed on the loop linking Asia to North America. (sh)
