New train to link Ruhr area with Czechia
On 15 June, the Belgian railfreight company Lineas plans to launch a new regular international transport service: three weekly train runs in both directions will provide direct connections between Recklinghausen-Ost in Germany's Ruhr area and Usti Nad Labem in Czechia, with additional deliveries for the first and last mile across both countries.
The trains will leave from both ends of the link every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The new service offers onward connections to other European regions via the Lineas green xpress network.
Lineas already operates frequent rail links between Antwerp (Belgium) and Czechia via Falkenberg (Germany). (ben)
