New locomotive for mineral oil transports
The German railway company IGE is expanding its fleet and leasing another Euro Dual locomotive from the European Loc Pool (ELP). The new traction unit will be used for heavy mineral oil transports
The six-axle Euro Dual is the fourth Euro Hybrid locomotive in the IGE fleet, which now comprises two locomotives each of the Euro 9000 type and the Euro Dual type.
In contrast to other dual-power locomotives on the market, the Euro Dual freight locomotive is highly suitable for heavy trains and, with its low axle load of only 20.5T, has a much wider range of use. Delivery is scheduled for June 2023. (ben)
