New facility for automotive logistics
After almost a year of construction, Garbe Industrial Real Estate has completed an automotive logistics centre in Flechtorf to the south of Wolfsburg in Lower Saxony (Germany) for engineering services provider Bertrandt. The property with a 30,000 sqm hall area was officially handed over to the tenant at the beginning of June. Overall, EUR 35 million were invested in the project.
Ralf Domogalla of Bertrandt: "Vehicle and component diagnostics, assembly, painting, body construction and logistics will be housed here.”
For loading and unloading the trucks and swap bodies, the centre has been equipped with as many as 14 dock levellers and 16 ground-level sectional doors. Parking spaces for 249 cars and six trucks are available in a carpark outside the building.
Bertrandt intends to employ a staff of around 250 employees in Flechtorf in future. First sections of the facility are scheduled to come on stream in the middle of June. (mw)
