New end-to-end service from Austria to Scandinavia
The OeBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is establishing a four times per week rail service between Vienna and Scandinavia, thus linking Austria to Northern Europe.
From the central shunting station in Vienna, the non-stop service is routed via Rostock (Germany) and the Baltic Sea. Wagons are loaded onto the twice daily ferries to Trelleborg (Sweden). From there, single wagons are distributed, thus ensuring sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions for the entire Scandinavian region.
The ferry connection and the redistribution are handled by the partner Green Cargo. The transit times between Vienna and Trelleborg is only 25 hours. (ben)
