New director for Swiss FOT
At its meeting on 24 January 2024, the Swiss government appointed Christa Hostettler as the new director of the federal office of transport (FOT). She has led the market and customer service department as a member of the executive board at PostAuto, part of the Swiss Post group, for four years.
In the FOT, Hostettler will oversee the future development and financing of public transport and freight transport in Switzerland. Hostettler, who is from the canton of Solothurn, will take up her new role on 1 August 2024 and replace Peter Füglistaler, who is retiring.
Prior to her current position at PostBus, Hostettler was secretary general of two governmental bodies comprising the cantonal ministers for building, planning, and environment (BPUK) and public transport (KöV) for five years. (cj)
