New container trains to run between Siberia and China
KTZ Express, Russian Railways, Transcontainer and Allians Trans Torg launched the first container train from Kemerovo-Sortirovochnoe station in western Siberia to China. The new service allows customers to send cargo from the railway terminal in the close proximity to the production plant, according to the companies' requirements.
The first train was loaded with 102 teu containers full of lumber and proceeded through the Dostyk border crossing in Kazakhstan to the Chinese Tuanjetsun station. The travel time was three days.
In the future, the Kemerovo-Sortirovochnoye station is expected to dispatch two - three regular container trains per month. And the list of transported cargo will be expanded, KTZ Express announced.
