New Chinese conversion partner for EFW
Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a subsidiary of ST Engineering and Airbus, has teamed up with Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corp (Ameco), a provider of MRO services for aircraft in China, for a new collaborative project for Airbus A330 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions.
Under the partnership, Ameco will carry out P2F conversions as a service provider for EFW. Conversions will be performed at Ameco’s facilities in Chengdu, with the first induction of an A330 scheduled for 2023.
ST Engineering and EFW have set up new conversion sites in China and USA to ramp up their conversion capacities and meet rising demand for freighter conversions. Ameco is the second third-party conversion provider, after Turkish Technic, with whom EFW formed a partnership this year for its A330P2F programme. (ah)
