New chairman and CEO for Yang Ming
The Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has elected Cheng Cheng-Mount to succeed Hsieh Chih-Chien as its chairman and CEO with effect from 1 October 2020.
Cheng Cheng-Mount was the chief economist at Citibank Taiwan, the president of the Academy of Banking and Finance, the president of the Agricultural Bank of Taiwan, the vice chairman of the financial supervisory commission, and the deputy minister of the national development Council. He also served as an adjunct associate professor in the department of finance at the National Chengchi University.
Appointed by the National Development Fund, Yang Ming’s second-largest shareholder, Cheng has been serving on Yang Ming's board of directors since 2018. (amh)
