Natural-gas trucks expand fleet
The Italian transport and logistics group Transmec has purchased ten high-tech trucks that are powered by natural gas. Natural gas, an eco-friendly fuel for internal combustion engines, benefits air quality, cuts CO2 emissions by 15% and also lowers noise pollution.
For maximum impact, Transmec will operate the new Iveco Stralis gas trucks on long-distance European routes. Five are already in operation, with a further five arriving by summer.
The multimodal operator’s international road transport services include FTL, LTL and groupage destinations in Europe, including Italy, UK and Ireland, the Benelux countries, Spain, France, Germany, Romania, Poland and Turkey. (ben)
