Mountain Air Cargo to add ATR72-600 freighters
Mountain Air Cargo (MTN, Kinston) is planning to add one ATR72-600F to its fleet for use in interstate and foreign charter cargo operations under contract with US logistics giant Fedex Express (FX, Memphis Int'l), according to a regulatory filing by the US department of transportation.
In the order dated 11 August 2022, the DOT tentatively declared MAC "fit, willing, and able" to conduct interstate and foreign charter air transportation of property and mail as a US certificated air carrier. The DOT also acknowledged MAC's US citizenship.
This follows MAC's application on 4 October 2021 for certificates of public convenience and necessity to engage in interstate and foreign charter all-cargo air transportation. The certificate authority is needed to operate large aircraft. (cj)
