More than 100 t of humanitarian aid in 2024
In commemoration of World Humanitarian Day, Avianca and its business units Avianca Cargo, Life Miles and Deprisa, have highlighted the progress achieved thanks to the work with foundations and partner organisations in the region.
Throughout 2024, their assistance efforts have focused on responding to natural disasters, providing medical care, and facilitating the transport of volunteers. In the first half of this year, Avianca impacted more than 13,000 people, of which 2,900 received assistance under humanitarian aid programmes.
This support included the transport of over 100 t of humanitarian cargo in countries such as Brazil and Colombia, and the mobilisation of 260 volunteer doctors assisting in medical brigades in rural areas. Avianca and its business units also helped to deliver food to more than 600 families. (cj)
