More round trips between Lübeck and Italy
TX Logistik (TXL) launched two weekly round trips between the CTL terminal in Lübeck to the Quadrante Europa terminal in Verona at the beginning of this year.
The new intermodal link is operated as an open train system with its own traction. Its main customer is the freight forwarder Bode and most of the goods transported are semi-trailers, Nikrasa, containers and tank containers. The trains take around 24 hours to complete the approximately 1,240 km route via Munich, Kufstein and Brenner.
Also at the beginning of the year, TXL increased the number of round trips between Lübeck and Segrate near Milan from four to six per week. The subsidiary of Mercitalia (FS Italiane) uses multi-system locomotives on both routes. (ben)
