More capacity for chemistry and pharma clients
Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst, a joint venture between Contargo and Infraserv Logistics, is adding 10,000 sqm to the container terminal at Industriepark Höchst in Germany. The term of the contract was extended until at least 2042 for this purpose.
The 4,600,000 sqm Industriepark Höchst, operated by Infraserv Höchst, is home to around 90 companies from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, basic and specialty chemicals, and crop protection sectors, among others.
The joint venture has been providing container services primarily for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries since 2014. The expansion of the terminal is to begin this year, as its capacities can no longer keep up with increasing demand.
The new areas also feature additional truck parking spaces, including those with charging infrastructure for electrically powered trucks. Completion of the terminal expansion, which also entails the construction of an additional container crane waterside, is expected by the end of 2023/beginning of 2024. (sh)
