Monitoring pandas on voyage
Cathay Cargo leveraged an air cargo tracking solution of the Canadian logistics IT services provider Descartes to monitor the condition and location of two pandas in real-time as they were safely transported from Chengdu to Hong Kong, where they arrived on 26 September.
The airline has been using the solution as part of its "ultra track" cargo tracking service since 2021, providing its customers with real-time shipment location and condition status for airport-to-airport moves of goods such as electronics, perishables and pharmaceuticals.
