Milestone for Hamad port
Hamad Port Qatar, which is one of the pillars of the country's supply, recently achieved a major milestone as it handled its sixth million container. The port has also processed 13 million freight tonnes of non-containerised cargo since the start of its operations in December 2016. Q Terminals, the terminal operating company at Hamad Port, confirmed the figures. The capacity of Hamad Port will reach 7.5 million teu annually on completion of all ongoing construction projects. Since February 2020, due to Covid-19, the registration and inspection of all ships calling at Hamad Port, Ruwais Port and Doha Port is the rule. (cd)
