Martinique: new port system goes online

In mid-March, Fort-de-France, Martinique's main port, processed the first nine ships with its new Ci5 software. Now the port community is fully connected to Ci5. The partnership for the Caribbean Cooperation between Port+ and MGI started in 2007 with the deployment of AP+ to process import and export container flows at the Pointe des Grives terminal and the Hydrobase.

Twelve years later, Martinique professionals and Port+ have opted for Ci5. “This is a new step towards modernising trade in our port community,” commented Nicole Sully, managing director of Port+ Fort de France. To ensure a safe transition, MGI sent a team to Martinique for two weeks to train and assist future users.

Port+ includes 120 customers connected with over 200 users every day. In 2018, some 93,000 customs declarations were validated and almost 2,150 transport notices were issued for more than 86,300 teu imported and exported. (cd)
