Making non-craneable semi-trailers craneable
VTG has cooperated with logistics provider VEGA International to develop a solution to make non-craneable semi-trailers craneable. The successful trial runs were carried out in Tilburg (Netherlands), where VTG customer and terminal operator GVT tested Vega’s vertical transhipment and transport technology RoadRailLink (R2L) in operation.
VTG is now reviewing options to bring its R2L transport and transhipment technology to market for the twin double-pocket wagon. With this technology, all types of non-craneable semi-trailers can be transhipped without undue extra expense. The fully galvanised loading basket is a platform which terminal cranes or reachstackers can lift vertically in and out of double-pocket wagons. (ben)
