Major order for hybrid straddle carriers

Kalmar has secured a significant order from Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT) for 20 eco-efficient hybrid straddle carriers, to be delivered by Q1/2026. The agreement continues a long-standing partnership with MCT, which handles 4 million teu annually at the port of Gioia Tauro in southern Italy.

The hybrid straddle carriers aim to reduce emissions, fuel costs and noise levels, whilst enhancing operating comfort. Since 1995 Kalmar, a leader in sustainable material handling solutions, operating in over 120 countries, has supplied over 200 straddle carriers to MCT, underscoring the terminal’s commitment to sustainable operations.
