Major GE90 support contract in Asia
As an airline-MRO, and with an extensive technical development programme, AFI KLM E&M has acquired resources and expertise in GE90 engine overhaul and maintenance. Now the company has taken a new step in its Asia Pacific market and entered the Taiwanese market.
The MRO division of Air France-KLM Group, the world’s second largest GE90 operator, and China Airlines have signed a formal agreement to support the GE90 engines powering the airline's B777F. The exclusive long-term contract between the two parties covers "power by the hour" support solutions, including MRO on engine, engineering support including spare engine support, transportation, on-wing and on-site support.
China Airlines and Air France-KLM are Skyteam partners, Taipei is served by both French and Dutch airlines. (ah)
