Low-carbon H2 plant for the Seine axis

Haropa Port and Verso Energy have agreed to establish a low-carbon hydrogen and synthetic fuels production plant in Grand-Quevilly, France.

Slated for operation by 2029, the EUR 500 million project will produce over 50,000 t of hydrogen annually and create new opportunities for employment in the area. The initiative is key to decarbonising industry and mobility, aligning with the national strategy for hydrogen development and sustainable fuels.

The plant is part of a broader vision to transform the Seine Axis into a valley of new fuels and mobility, reaffirming Haropa Port's role in the ecological transition.

Officials from local and regional governments, as well as the CEOs of Haropa Port and Verso Energy, attended the signing, which underscores the Seine Valley's potential in decarbonising transport and advancing green technologies. (pb)
