Looking back on a special year – Saudia Cargo
Saudia Cargo, the global air cargo carrier from Saudi Arabia, demonstrated significant operational growth last year, marked by an increase in cargo volumes and flight activities.
The company transported 577,870 t of cargo in 2024, representing 27% growth in transported weight and a 13% increase compared to 2023. It also conducted 193,599 flights last year, representing a 6% rise year-on-year. E-commerce shipments saw 23% growth, totalling 64,107 t, while high-value shipments accounted for 54% of total revenues. Saudia Cargo also maintained a 92% on-time flight performance.
The company also introduced permanent new routes to key markets, adding Shenzhen (China), for example, and seasonal routes to Athens (Greece) and Nice (France) to its expanding network, thus strengthening connectivity between the kingdom and global markets. (cj)
