Long hauls with a bio-LNG powered truck
Iveco and Shell are beginning to trial a truck powered by bio-LNG with a ten-day long-haul journey across Europe. The tour will begin in Berlin, Germany, and will stop at five landmarks of the bio-LNG ecosystem on the route that will touch Germany, the Netherlands and Italy.
The Iveco S-Way’s goal is to complete the tour achieving net-zero emissions while delivering an efficient performance. With their joint project, the partners want to show how strategic cooperation and policy leadership can drive the adoption of bio-LNG in the European fleet market.
The transport industry carries roughly 73.1% of all freight transported over land in the EU and is responsible for around 9% of total EU CO2 emissions. (ben)
