Logtainer and Hupac bolster cooperation
Swiss combined transport operator Hupac and Italian intermodal specialist Logtainer have exchanged a few but significant shares. The mutual share acquisition demonstrates the intention to further strengthen the cooperation established in January 2021, Hupac said.
The companies aim to develop intermodal solutions for shipowners and set up a joint transport network. A new major terminal is currently being built in Milan-Smistamento (Italy). In future, sea freight from Asia arriving in Italian ports will be loaded onto rail and transported to the European hinterland. (ben)
