Loco pulls 6,400 t trains - even in rough terrain
RZD Logistics has delivered the first four diesel locomotives of a total of 50 units ordered to Kazakhstan. The tractor units, all 2TE25KM freight locomotives, are manufactured at the Russian engineering plant in Bryansk, southwest of Moscow, which belongs to Transmashholding.
According to RZD Logistics, the locomotive can train transport trains weighing up to 6,400 t even in difficult areas with temperatures between -50 to +40 °C. The logistics division of Russian Railways (RZD) handled the traction and the customs formalities and supervised the transport. (ben)
