Lithuanians looking for drivers in Central Asia

To tackle the current shortage of professional drivers in the European Road transportation market, Girteka is collaborating with countries close to Europe, like Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan.

Mindaugas Paulauskas, CEO of Girteka Transport: "A shortage of drivers has become a global one issue, affecting not only Europe but the entire world. […] We are missing approximately 400,000-450,000 professional drivers. […] Many drivers will soon retire and there is no potential and attractiveness of the job for younger generations, yet. I said yet, as I think that Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are examples and a beacon of hope […]."

Girteka Transport’s new branches in Almaty and Bishkek will focus on attracting drivers to work in Europe. There are already more than 3,000 drivers from Asia. Drivers from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will gain experience and skills that can be used for logistics services in European countries. (mk)
