Linking Spain and France without border stop
On November, Synergy is launching an intermodal service connecting the Hutchison ports’ Best Terminal Barcelona (Spain) with the city of Toulouse (France). The railway will run three times weekly in both directions with a capacity to transport 180 teu each way.
As the port of Barcelona has the three European gauges, this new service does not require a change of locomotive nor any kind of stop at the Franco-Spanish border.
Synergy will operate the train using the rail resources of the French company Captrain, which will in turn allow this service to be connected from Toulouse to other inland rail terminals in France such as Bordeaux. Synergy is part of Hutchison Ports. (ben)
