Lights, camera, action for Gaumont!
The French company Gaumont, known for classics such as "Leon, the Professional", "Nikita" or "The Big Blue", recently entrusted the Hamburg-based forwarding and logistics company A. Hartrodt with a spectacular order for an international film production.
Following the high-end Netflix production "Barbarians", a six-part mini-series "What Counts" is currently being produced by the German TV channel ZDF in Thailand.
A. Hartrodt transported the film equipment halfway around the world, from Brussels to Bangkok. The producers briefly feared that the start of filming may be delayed because important customs documents could not be found.
Jens Römer, regional managing director at A. Hartrodt, explained: "The airline had lost the carnet. This was a critical situation, as original documents are mandatory. We were in constant contact with the people in charge and made all the arrangements with the chamber of commerce to have a new set issued in case of emergency. Finally, after three long days, the original was finally found and the situation was clarified on site."
For customs clearance and delivery in Bangkok, the forwarder used the joint venture Wisma Forwarding, a part of its own network in Thailand. (sh)
