LGI uses cloud service at LIS
LGI Logistics Group International (LGI) has been using the cloud services provided by LIS Logistische Informationssysteme (LIS) for managing its transports since the beginning of August. After many years of successful transport management with Winsped, LGI has handed over the administration of the software to LIS.
To this end, the transport management system was switched from Oracle to SQL servers, which can be operated in the LIS computer centre. With 80 users, LGI is currently one of LIS' biggest customers using the computer centre.
"With the LIS cloud we offer our customers added flexibility and service," said Rolf Hansmann, member of the board at LIS.
Instead of installing the programme on each user's hardware, the TMS provider has made the entire Winsped software environment available on its own servers. The application service providing programme allows users to access all data per browser from any location. (mw)
